In India, "Charpoy" in Hindi means a 4 legged multipurpose sofa cum bed.It is a simple cheap contraption made from ordinary wood and Jute strings.
An integral part of Indian culture,when Rishis sat on Charpoys and gave gyan to deiples,to household and Village elders chatting and relaxing at the end of a hard day work,or just lazing on it during the day and celebrating peace.
Even today it is part of every household in rural India.
